Sea of Cortez Advanced Catamaran Sailing Course (ASA 105/106, 114)

Students completing this course should be able to safely act as skipper and crew of a cruising catamaran about 30 to 50 feet in length. This is a day and nighttime class in coastal and inland water, in any weather. This is a catamaran-specific five day course that devotes the first day to Coastal Navigation skills. Thereafter you will head out to explore the islands and anchorages in the Sea of Cortez near either Puerto Escondido/Loreto or in the La Paz area. This is an advanced sailing course. It is strongly suggested that students have sufficient sailing experience to benefit from this level of training.

Prerequisites: Basic Keelboat (ASA 101), Basic Coastal Cruising (ASA 103), Advanced Coastal Cruising (ASA 104)

Focused Attention

In order to provide the best experience and maximum personal instruction, WCM typically limits class sizes to 4 persons (except Coastal Navigation - ASA 105). The minimum number for a class to take place is 3 students. Your class WILL BE RESCHEDULED if the class has less than 3 students. There are no refunds. You may have the option of paying extra to keep the class at the scheduled time with less than 3 students. The best way to make sure your class goes off as scheduled, at the price listed here, is to HELP US FILL THE CLASS WITH YOUR FRIENDS!

No Hassles

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking, and tuition will be paid in full 60 days prior to beginning of class. This balance payment is also not refundable. WCM will charge your credit card the tuition balance 60 days prior to the first day of your scheduled class, or you can pay the balance online.

*Port and Marina Fees, and applicable taxes, are included in the listed price. If you book online, a 6% fee will be added by the third-party provider of this reservation service. This fee is not collected by WCM, and in most cases is non-refundable. Prices subject to change without notice.

Because Stuff Happens

Up to 60 days before the start of your scheduled course or class, you may request an alternate date. There are no refunds offered, however you may reschedule your class booking for a fee (20% of the full class amount), booking another date up to one year from your original class start date.

Please understand that your change/rescheduling affects all other enrolled students, some of whom may have already purchased airfare and taken time off work. Your changes also affect your instructor’s schedule, as well as boat scheduling. This could result in postponing the class or canceling it entirely. For these reasons there are no refunds or rescheduling within 60 days of class start date.

WCM will, on rare occasions, have to postpone a class due to inclement weather. This decision is made at the discretion of the sailing instructor and management of WCM Sailing School. If a decision to postpone a class is made, it is done so with the safety and comfort of of our clients in mind. If foul weather is forecast we urge you to contact us for an update.
